In 1875, the Parsi Virbaiji Soparivala School was renamed Bai Virbaiji Soparivala Parsi High School, and Governor of Bombay H. E. Sir Robert Temple paid a visit to the BVS. Queen Victoria awarded Seth Shahpurji the “Certificate of Loyalty” in 1877 for his contributions to education and the social sector. The construction of the current building began in 1904, and BVS moved to the new facility on Victoria Road in 1906. (now Abdullah Haroon Road). BVS was designed by Moses So make, a Jewish architect who is credited with designing many of Karachi’s structures.
