The Allama Iqbal Road in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan is home to the Mirpur University of Science and Technology (MUST). It was founded in August of that year. First known as University College of Engineering & Technology Mirpur, the university has since changed its name many times (UCET Mirpur).

In the university, the President of Azad Jammu & Kashmir is in charge of the Chancellor, while the Vice-Chancellor is in charge of the system as a whole. XVIII Presidential Ordinance allows it to function. Ali Ahmed Shah University College of Engineering & Technology was formed through a merger of three departments.

The University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir includes the University College of Home Economics and the Institute of Islamic Studies. In addition to the Central Library, a number of sports facilities, an auditorium, a mosque, student cafeterias and dormitories as well as large lecture hall and lab spaces and a parking lot make up the main campus’ educational core.
