Balochistan Law College Merit list 2023
We didn’t have a law school in Balochistan till 1970. However, University Law College Quetta was established in 1971 in time for the birth of Balochistan as a province and the founding of the University of Balochistan, thanks to the sincere efforts of real patriots of the soil like Mr Justice Muhammad Ahmed Mirza, Barrister Yahya Bakhtiar, Mr Justice (Retired) Dorab Petal, Mr Justice (Retired) Mir Khuda Bakhsh Marri, and Prof. Mir Muhammad Khan Rais.
Initially, the institution was located in the Quetta civil courthouse, where it began its academic activity. During the tenure of Prof. Mir Muhammad Raisani as Principal of the College (1976-1990), the current College building was constructed on a large plot of land, acquired from the defence department through the Quetta Cantonment Authority, at a considerable cost. It was later moved to the building of the government science college Quetta.

Since then, Balochistan’s inhabitants have been able to pursue legal education at a reasonable price thanks to a law college in the province. In 1972, the first graduating class of law students was sworn in, and the procedure has continued to this day. In the last four years, more than 4,000 men and women have graduated with an LLB degree. More over 3,000 of the Balochistan Bar’s practising attorneys are graduates of this institution, and those who aren’t are working in other profitable fields.

A further distinguishing aspect of the college’s faculty is that about 80 per cent of its teachers and administrators have received their LL.B. degrees from this school, and are now practising lawyers in Pakistan’s courts.
