CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz has introduced the largest housing scheme “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar”. In this scheme, low-income people will get 1 lakh houses at low cost in easy installments of 7 years. The Punjab government will provide an interest-free loan of Rs 15 lakh for the construction of houses.

Speaking at the inauguration of the project, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that she is launching a scheme today which will benefit lakhs of the people of Punjab. She said that owning a home is one of the greatest blessings in life and she wants every citizen not to be deprived of this blessing. So far six districts of Punjab have been included in this scheme.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Economically Backward Classes: This means you belong to a family that has a very low income and lives below the poverty line.

- Preference to persons without existing residential property: This means that if you do not own your own home, you will be given priority in this program.
